3.2 Technical Data

When you visit tour-egypt.xyz our web hosting infrastructure records standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed and timestamps. This data is collected automatically by our hosting provider and is used solely for server security, performance monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis. We do not use this data to identify individuals. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days.

3.3 Data We Do Not Collect

We do not install any analytics tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Matomo or equivalent), advertising pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags), session-recording software or push-notification services on this website. We do not collect cookies beyond those set automatically by the browser for session integrity. We do not collect payment card numbers — all payment processing is handled by our third-party processor (Stripe or Wise) under their own PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure.

  • Legitimate interests: We may retain records of completed transactions for a reasonable period to support our accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.
  • Consent: Where we send optional communications beyond the scope of your initial request — for example, a notification that entry fees at a site in your guide pack have changed — we rely on the consent given in the contact form. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: We retain invoice and transaction records for the period required under Egyptian tax law (typically five years) regardless of other data retention settings.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Responding to your enquiry and preparing the requested guide pack, itinerary or dossier
  • Communicating about the status of your order or responding to follow-up questions
  • Sending post-delivery notifications about significant updates to sites covered in your guide pack (within three months of your stated travel dates)
  • Issuing invoices and maintaining accounting records
  • Complying with legal obligations under Egyptian law

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, targeted advertising or any commercial purpose beyond the direct delivery of the services you have requested.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or licence your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with marketing platforms, data brokers or advertising networks. Limited disclosure may occur in the following circumstances:

  • Payment processors: When you make a payment, your name and email are shared with Stripe or Wise solely for the purpose of processing the transaction. These processors are independently compliant with PCI DSS and applicable data protection regulation.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: Our web hosting provider has access to server log data as described in Section 3.2. The provider is contractually bound to process this data only for infrastructure operation purposes.
  • Legal requirement: If we are required by a valid court order, regulatory authority or Egyptian law enforcement request to disclose personal data, we will do so and will notify you where legally permitted.

7. International Transfers

Our primary data processing takes place in Egypt. If you are located in the European Economic Area, your enquiry data may be transferred to Egypt, which the European Commission has not designated as a country providing adequate data protection. In such cases we rely on appropriate safeguards — specifically, our contractual commitment to handle your data in accordance with GDPR standards — to legitimise the transfer. You may contact us to request a copy of the safeguards in place.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for the following periods:

  • Enquiry correspondence where no purchase was made: 12 months from the date of your last message.
  • Completed service records (guide packs delivered, invoices issued): 5 years, as required by Egyptian tax law.
  • Guide pack documents stored on our server for re-download purposes: 18 months from delivery date.
  • Server log files: 90 days.

After the applicable retention period, data is permanently deleted from our systems. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 9; we will comply except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
